Research interests 

Lidén's research focus is directed towards the local political arena in which he examines governance and policy output in a comparative manner. He has particularly covered these areas:

• Local migration and integration policy.

• Welfare policy.

• Digitalization of political processes.

Lidén has also an interest in research methods related to mixed methods approaches.
